La tesi di ricerca di Francesco si concentra sullo scouting e l’ottimizzazione dei parametri di fresatura nella fase di industrializzazione presso un’azienda del settore motorsport. Partendo dall’analisi di un database storico di progetti CAM, viene pianificata e condotta una campagna sperimentale sulle famiglie di lavorazioni più utilizzate dal team, con l’obiettivo di caratterizzare i parametri di processo che consentono di minimizzare sia il consumo utensile che i costi complessivi delle lavorazioni.

The work focuses on developing a predictive model for torque estimation during tapping and defining the optimal core diameter to prevent tool failure. Orthogonal cutting tests are performed to derive material force coefficients for selected workpiece- tool combination, which are then converted into oblique coefficients and applied to the torque model and validated experimentally to ensure industrial relevance.
